Schelstraete family sold the mare Burberry (Lord Loxley x Kelvin). The mare was previously successful with the para-rider Demi Vermeulen, including a silver medal at the Rio Games. Amber Schelstraete continued the success at ‘The Children’ class. The KWPN mare, bred by Bob Tenwolde, will continue her career with the Italian para-rider Erica Barozzi.
Burberry achieved her first international success with Demi Vermeulen. On their International Debut in Doha in 2016, they achieved two wins in Grade II. Then, they achieved great results in Deauville, Mannheim and Roosendaal. Later that year, the combination went to the Paralympic Games in Rio where they won team bronze and silver in the individual test. Rio was the duo’s last international competition.
Success at ‘The Children’ Class
In spring 2018, Burberry came into the hands of Schelstraete family, and shortly afterwards followed the international debut with daughter Amber with ‘The Children’. This combination had two successful years, including a double victory at the CDI Le Mans. At the last international competition on February in Lier, they tightened their personal best with 72.500% at the Introduction test, 73.116% at the Team Test and 71.358% at the Individual test.
Junior debut
Recently, the fourteen-year-old E-pony made her Junior Debut with Micky Schelstraete. They closed that debut with almost 68%.
